Insurance and Medisave
At Crest Surgical Practice, we understand that managing medical expenses is a priority for many patients. To help make your care more accessible, we collaborate with a wide range of insurance providers and partner with hospitals and day surgery centers where MediSave is accepted as a payment option.
MediSave, Singapore’s national savings scheme, is available to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs). It enables CPF (Central Provident Fund) contributors to use part of their savings for hospitalization, inpatient treatment, and day surgeries, including procedures like colonoscopy and gastroscopy. Accredited centers can E-file MediSave claims, helping to offset costs, with the claimable amount depending on the procedure and length of stay.

Can Medisave be used for screening Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy?
MediSave can also be used for screening gastroscopy and colonoscopy when recommended, subject to the prevailing TOSP withdrawal limit for both procedures plus $300 per day for associated day surgery charges. The patient will need to stay a minimum of 8 hours in the hospital.
For example, a gastroscopy without polypectomy falls under Table 1B, allowing for a maximum MediSave claim of:
= Day Surgery Charge + Surgical Limit
= $300 + $350
= $650
Whereas a colonoscopy with polypectomy is classified under Table 3A, with a maximum Medisave claimable amount of:
= $300 + $1,250
= $1,550
The surgical limit for inpatient and day surgery is determined by the complexity of the procedure, based on the Table of Surgical Procedures (TOSP), as outlined below. (This table’s data is sourced from the MOHH website.)
