Minimally Invasive Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery, also referred to as minimally invasive surgery, has revolutionised the field of surgical procedures by offering a less invasive alternative to traditional open surgery. Instead of large incisions, laparoscopic surgery utilises small incisions through which specialised instruments and a tiny camera (laparoscope) are inserted. The camera provides a magnified view of the inside of the body on a monitor, allowing surgeons to perform precise manoeuvres with enhanced visibility.

Robotic surgery represents a cutting-edge advancement in medical technology, where robotic systems assist surgeons in performing complex procedures with enhanced precision. Utilising robotic arms controlled by the surgeon, these systems offer greater dexterity and manoeuvrability through tiny incisions. This form of surgery leads to minimal scarring, reduced recovery times, and improved surgical outcomes across various specialties like urology, gynaecology, and general surgery.
